Watsonville Community Hospital under new ownership

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP. ‘FOR-PROFIT’
COMPANY “HALSEN
HEALTHCARE” BOUGHT
THE HOSPITAL. OVER THE SUMMER,
THE NURSES UNION
PUSHED FOR THE
HOSPITAL TO BE
PURCHASED BY THE
PAJARO VALLEY COMMUNITY HEALTH
TRUST AND A BECOME A
NON-PROFIT. THAT DIDN’T HAPPEN
BECAUSE THE TRUST
WASN’T ABLE TO SECURE
FUNDING. DOCTORS AND NURSES
SAY THIS IS A GOOD
MOVE FOR THE HOSPITAL
AND THE COMMUNITY. HALSEN’S CHAIRMAN
AND CEO SAYS H COMPANY HAD BEEN
WORKING FOR MO THAN A YEAR TO BUY
THE HOSPITAL. ###
