  1. Nazi Germany made money selling some public industries to private owners. but this was after Nazis had full control. Yoi may own the corporation but the Nazis dictate how you r operate it. So it is privatization in name only…

In Nazi Germany,” Mises tells us, the property owners “were called shop managers or Betriebsführer. The government tells these seeming entrepreneurs what and how to produce, at what prices and from whom to buy, at what prices and to whom to sell. The government decrees at what wages labourers should work, and to whom and under what terms the capitalists should entrust their funds. Market exchange is but a sham. As all prices, wages and interest rates are fixed by the authority, they are prices, wages and interest rates in appearance only; in fact they are merely quantitative terms in the authoritarian orders determining each citizen’s income, consumption and standard of living. The authority, not the consumers, directs production. The central board of production management is supreme; all citizens are nothing else but civil servants. This is socialism with the outward appearance of capitalism.

  2. The author if this video is simply butthurt. Yes. The Nazis were socialists both in name and practice. Get a life.

  3. “A Socialist is one who serve the common good without giving up his individuality or personality or the product of his efficiency. Our adopted term ‘socialist’ has nothing to do with Marxian Socialism. Marxism place no value on the individual, or individual effort, or efficiency; true Socialism value the individual and encourages him in individual efficiency, at the same time holding that his interests as an individual must be in consonance with those of an individual brain. It is charged against me that I am aginst property, that I am an athest. Both charges are false.”
    – Adolf Hitler December 28, 1938

  4. Hitler hated the rich 1% (Jews at the time) and believed they need to revert back to a 1 class system, by taking power from the rich and privatizing industries under his working classes.

Same as what socialists want today.

  5. Hitlers policies definitely had socialist elements. He effectively nationalised the means of production. Which is typically a socialist thing to do. And with regards to his policies for 'real Germans', that was definitely quite egalitarian stuff. He combined socialist elements with the toxic idea of social Darwinism, in which the weakest in society should be destroyed in order to become egalitarian, or Ubermenschen. The Nazi's set up the German welfare state, introduced child benefits, protections for workers, they constructed big projects which kept many people in jobs,
Nazism was clearly an attempt to get rid of the class society that existed before, just as socialists aimed to do. The difference was the race theories and social darwinism that socialism does not have (although, in the UK many socialists propagated eugenics, but alas). The Nazi's were in favor of a state that interfered quite deeply into the personal lives of their citizens, something socialism also favours. The Nazi's had a system of price control, and whilst there technically was free enterprise, all free enterprise had to follow the diktats by the Reichswirtschaftsministerium, the State Department of Economics. Hitler also stresses the importance of trade unions in Mein Kampf, which sounds pretty socialist to me. Hitler also copied many aspects of the Marxist rule from the Soviet Union. A one party system for instance. And when attacking the Soviet Union, Hitler mentioned in his private sphere that they will bring the 'real socialism' to Russia.

So what you can conclude is that the lack of respect for property rights (socialism), all kinds of social policies (welfare state, child benefits, price controls, effective state control over the means of production) combined with racist views (fascism) has led to the toxic brand of Nazism. So if you want to suggest that Hitler was not a socialist, I would suggest that you go back to history classes or read some books.

P.s. Nazi's in that time were actually described as beef's. Brown from the outside, but red from the inside. Hitler also applied for the SDP, the social democratic party. They refused him.

  6. With respect you only need to read Hitlers speeches and look at what he did to realise that he was very defiantly a SOCIALIST.

Eugenics and euthanasia was practiced by many countries at that time. The difference was that NAZI Germany used it in an attempt to rid their population of disabilities, mental illness, and an attempt to help injured soldiers. This treatment of doctors and scientists also occurred under Stalin (another lefty) with the Gulags. Eugenics and euthinasia was practiced on the German population themselves and was later was extended to the Jews 39 onwards. Remember Hitler hated the Jews because of the pain caused by Jewish bankers Germany following WW1. Germany had massive debts because of the Versailles peace treaty and was followed by the Great Recession during the 30's. Jewish bankers were throwing the Germans out of their homes, posessing their farms, businesses, etc., forcing the German people to live in the gutters. Eventualy Germany introduced their FIAT currency which the Jewish world bankers refused to accept. This forced Germany to use barter for international trade. With two years of the new currency being introduced Germany had near full employment, zero taxes. Other countries were still suffering into the 40's/50's.

Lots of the German debts were not repaid and were in some cases written off.

HITLER WAS WITHOUT DOUBT A SOCIALIST it is only those on the left who wish to rewrite history.

  7. Healthcare and education in Germany was publicly owned during the time of Hitler's regime, but he wasn't the one who nationalized it. It was nationalized by the Bismarck government before Hitler was even born. Hitler did, however, re-privatize many industries that were previously nationalized by the Weimer Republic during the Great Depression. His policies benefited corporate giants like Krupp, Siemens and IG Farben. The weapons and uniforms for the Nazi soldiers were produced by private arms manufacturers, who as a result profited greatly from Hitler's wars. Was it free market laissez faire capitalism? No. It was corporate fascism. Government and big business in bed with eachother. Nothing left wing about that. Am I saying modern free market conservatives are like Nazis? Absolutely not. There are many fundamental differences between the two camps. But both do belong on the right, the same way anarchists and Stalinists, despite their radical differences, both belong on the left.

  8. “We are socialists, we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions” Hitler

  9. Scotty M and anyone who agrees with him is thick as a brick and willfully ignorant of history.Keep up the good work,Comrade!

  10. +The TechnocraticSocialist I can not agree with you on the part of video were you compared Hitler being a socialist to yourself being a heterosexual. Since you, as a pansexual, have an important characteristic that's also shared by heterosexuals, you've actually de facto pointed that Hitler has some important characteristics of a socialist – which, besides the name of his ideology, are non-existent.
