Manifestoon (1986) by Jessie Drew - The Communist Manifesto illustrated by Cartoons

[Applause] the history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles in the earlier epochs of history we find almost everywhere a complicated arrangement of society into various orders in ancient Rome we have patricians knights Libyans slaves in the Middle Ages feudal lords vassals guild masters journeyman apprentices serfs our epoch the epoch of the bourgeoisie possesses however this distinctive feature it has simplified class antagonisms society as a whole is more and more splitting up into two great hostile camps into two great classes directly facing each other Bush was the and proletariat the bourgeoisie has at last since the establishment of modern industry and of the world-market conquered for itself in the modern representative state exclusive political sway the executive of the modern state is but a committee for managing the common affairs of the whole bourgeoisie the bourgeoisie has stripped of its halo every occupation hitherto honoured and looked up to you with reverent awe it has converted the physician the lawyer the priest the poet the scientist into its paid wage laborers it has left no other bond between people the naked self-interest than callous cash payment it has resolved personal worth into exchange value and a place of the numberless indefeasible chartered freedoms has set up that single unconscionable freedom free trade in one word for exploitation failed by religious and political illusions it has substituted naked shameless direct brutal exploitation by freedom is meant under the present bushwalk conditions of production free trade free selling and bone the need of a constantly expanding market for its products chases the bush was the over the whole surface of the globe it must Nestle everywhere subtle everywhere established connections everywhere all old established national industries have been destroyed are daily being destroyed they are dislodged by new industries whose introduction becomes a life-and-death question for all civilized nations by industries that no longer work up indigenous raw material but raw material drawn from the remotest zones industries whose products are consumed not only at home but in every corner of the globe in place of the old ones satisfied by the production of the country we find new ones requiring for their satisfaction the products of distant lands and climes it compels all nations on pain of extinction to adopt a blue choix mode of production it compels them to introduce what it calls civilization into their myths ie to become loose rot themselves in a word it creates a world after its own image it has agglomerate Edition centralized the means of production and has concentrated property in a few hands subjection of nature's forces to man machinery application of chemistry to industry and agriculture steam navigation railways electric Telegraph's clearing of whole continents for cultivation canalisation of rivers what earlier century had even a presentment as such productive forces slumbered in the lap of social labour modern bourgeois society with its relations of production of exchange and of property a society that has counted up such gigantic means of production and of exchange is like the sorcerer who is no longer able to control the powers of another world who he has called up by his spells in these crises there breaks out an epidemic that in all earlier epochs would have seemed an absurdity the epidemic of overproduction and how does the bushwah get over these crises on the one hand by enforced destruction of a massive productive forces on the other by the conquest of new markets and by the more thorough exploitation of the old ones the various interests and conditions of life within the ranks of the proletariat are more and more equalized in proportion as machinery obliterates all distinctions of Labor and nearly everywhere reduces wages to the same low level the proletarian movement is the self-conscious independent movement of the immense majority in the interests of the immense majority the proletariat the lowest stratum of our present society cannot stir cannot raise itself up without the whole superincumbent strata of official society these thrown up into the air now and then the workers are victorious but only for a time the real fruit of their battle lies not in the immediate result but in the ever expanding union of the workers this union is furthered by the improved means of communication which are created by modern industry and which place the workers of different localities in contact with one another we communists have been reproached with the desire of abolishing the right of personally acquiring property as the fruit of one's own labor which property is alleged to be the groundwork of all personal freedom activity and independence hard-won self acquired Selfridge property do you mean the property of the petty artisan and of the small peasant there is no need to abolish that the development of industry has to a great extent already destroyed it and is still destroying it daily you are horrified that are intending to do away with private property but in your existence society private property has already done away with for nine-tenths of the population its existence for the few is solely due to its non-existence in the hands of the nine-tenths communism deprives no one of the power to appropriate the products of society all that it does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labor of others by means of such appropriation the bourgeois claptrap about the family and education about the haloed co-relation of parent and child becomes all the more disgusting or more by the action of modern industry all family ties among the proletarians are torn asunder and their children are transformed into simple articles of Commerce and instruments of labour the bourgeoisie has torn away from the family at sentimental veil and has reduced the family relation to a mere money relation nothing is more ridiculous than the virtuous indignation of our Buju wha-at the community of women which they pretend is to be openly and officially established by the communists the Communists have no need to introduce community and it has existed from time immemorial the workers have no country we cannot take from them what they have not got political power properly so-called is merely the organized power of one class for oppressing another in place of the old Gujarat society with his classes and class antagonisms we shall have an association in which the free development of each is the condition for the free development of all the Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims they openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions let the ruling classes tremble at a communist revolution the Cholet Aryans have nothing to lose but their chains they have a world to win workers of all countries unite [Applause]

  1. It sounds good on paper. But those that tried to put this into actions millions die. And there are no gun rights…. No property rights. Thats crazy. Just because the 1% doesnt feel all of humanity should have a right to property that does not mean humanity is not entitled those god given rights. I dont like what capitalism as it has become to day…. Because the rich and powerful monopolize it. But being able to sell your own goods and services under Gods law is universal. I know some dont believe in god. For those lets say being able to sell and offer services for compensation is a universal law.

  2. But human nature says that humans are naturally greedy (even though I as a worker have no real basis for being greedy – my capital is relatively minuscule), therefore capitalism shall always reign. Wait, but if I'm greedy and a worker, and therefore have no defined allegiance to the bourgeoisie, wouldn't I fight for my interests and hope to overthrow the capitalist system? Hm… Capitalist logic is broken.

  3. Videos like these are rare. Most of them have a black-and-white view of things about the "good" west and the "evil" communists. Lenin was a genius and his motives were pure. He deeply believed in democracy – in TRUE democracy, where the people share the power and the wealth, without classes and human oppression. I only wish he could prevent Stalin from taking so much power. Not everything Stalin did was wrong (he and the rest of the Soviets f*cked the Nazis), but he also did some stuff that

  4. To you leftist scum. Every place on earth you take power it turns to shit. I lived under communism and have horrible memories of it. Communists are lazy, jealous scum which have hate for anybody more successful than them.

  5. "Communist Manifesto" by the Marx/Engels comedy duo [some sort of Laurel & Hardy, or Abbott & Costello[]. Good to cover bird cages or  have the dog sh-t on it! Who reads this bullsh-t?

  6. Communism is pure police state. Study it out for yourself. In China the local police have so much power that they are all like hitlers. Read Rick Davis book "Secret societies and their god Lucifer"

  7. We have not had free markets since 1913.  This film is blatantly false.  It is teaching the lie of communism.  Communism has been repeated often in history and was described by King Cyrus some 500 BC.  In his book, The Travels of Cyrus, he describes the systems of his day and explores the lie of collectivism.  It is always pushed upon the masses by the elite one way or another.   It is total control of the masses by the masters, though it pretends to be the opposite.  And it lasts until they die in starvation or rebel.  It has happened so many times in history that it makes this video laughable.

  8. Centralization was communism's downfall, that doesn't mean it therefore renders the ideology as defeated. I have yet to hear a legitimate argument made against a decentralized communism/socialism, like that which existed during the Spanish civil war and in the early Soviet Union and China.

  9. Whether you agree with Communism or not, you have to give Marx credit for being right about the wealth gap,  there's something wrong when the richest 85 people in the world have more money than the bottom 3.5 Billion

  10. Communism and socialism have been tried many, many times all over the world and they always result in starvation, the murder of citizens, oppression and have the ability to make ALL citizens equally poor and miserable while the elitist hypocrite oppressors in control at the top live in luxury and splendor. THAT IS FACT! To keep doing the same stupid things over and over with the same disastrous outcomes is the definition of insanity. I don't need some moron to hold my hand all through my life telling me what I can do, what I can say, what I can think, where I can go, what I can eat, what I can read, what I can listen to. Get the HELL out of our lives and mind your own damn business!

  11. You have two cows. You drink some vodka and count them again. You have five cows. The Russian Mafia shows up and takes however many cows you have. converts them into hamburger and sell them to fat Americunts for 1500% markup.

You broke with no cows or money or friends chew off your own legs for sustenance.

  12. Ive always been a sympathizer to the communist cause however a communist society that abolishes private property can only do so in a totalitarian way. If i work harder than you it makes sense i would get paid more and have more property. If communists understood that i think this ideal could do much good for the world. communism allows for no losers, and no matter what society construct you have in place there will be losers. I appreciate the revolutionary attitude of Communism but that's all

  13. Yes he's right.. but he's also wrong

If he saw the fuckers cleaning out the amassed bones on the streets during the ruling of dictators who rose to power through the repetitive case of communism devolving into a nightmare of absolutely tyranny.. he'd probably burn his damn book

  14. That's markets. Capitalism means a system of property and business organization in which the economy is run by a capitalist class. Markets existed before capitalism.

  15. What do you mean by that? Are you claiming the means of production and the distribution of wealth are in the hands of the Chinese state, rather than private corporations? If that is your claim, can you point to current examples?

If you are referring only to the authoritarian, police-state nature of Chinese government control, that is not in itself communism. Closed societies can and have existed under many forms of government and within various economic climates.

  16. Superillusiveman, you need to do a bit more studying there, friend. Actually, quite a bit.

(And I imagine once you do, you won't need to go around speaking arrogantly to people anymore.)

  17. In capitalism the mode of production lies in the hands of capitalist and the motive for the same is profit. period. What we saw in the USSR was not communism but some kind of state capitalism with some principles of socialism. Communism is a classless, godless, stateless, moneyless (and I would add genderless) society. It is the epitome. We started with slavery, then feudalism, then capitalism, then socialism and finally will move to communism.

  18. We must get rid of this talk about boguise and Proloteriat. We must know two things Poverty is poverty and Socialism is with in human morals and deasansey. All we have to loose is are Hs. George Alwell.

  19. No one with a college education thinks you're a legitimate communist. You are the result of Western communism though. They don't give a fuck in hell about you.

  20. capatalism doe's it first after A while capatalism become A sort of communism but one that work for rich pepole an Against every one else.

  21. We should abolish wage labour not all free exchanges. You can still call our classless society of non-alienated producers "capitalist" if you want. I don't care what you call it.

  22. You're confusing Corporatism with Capitalism. Capitalism is nothing more than two or more parties engaging in exchange. You must get you facts right.

  23. What's so wicked about a system based on human decency, empathy, and camaraderie? Well nothing, of course. The only problem is that communism, in practice, encourages none of those values. In fact it goes directly against them. By removing the right to own the produce of one's own labor, communism removes the ability of people to provide for themselves. When that happens, people can no longer survive, let alone pursue any sort of fulfilling career.

  24. The communist and socialist societies are base on unrealistic heaven on earth and not grounded into human nature and universal natural forces. Power to the people always sounds great but ends up as always as power to the minority and the power elites and the people lose again.

  25. Have you ever lived in a socialist country? Have you ever experienced shortage of goods and services? And have you lived in collapsed economy as a result of socialism? Experienced the total irrationality and waste of resources in a state controlled production? If any answer is NO then you have no idea what are you talking about and should start thinking or travel OUTSIDE of 'murica's borders and meet other people with real experience. Without it you just talk rubbish and make fun of yourself.

  26. It isn't surprising there are so many people totally ignorant about the economic system responsible for providing more people world-wide with health & prosperity than any other mechanism in the timeline of world history. Capitalism represents that which is good in the world. Capitalism bastardized by the ignoble stifling wickedness & corruption of Marxism, Keynesian economics & corporatism represents all that is evil in the world. Capitalism good. Corporatism & Marxism evil. Graspthatimproveuriq

  27. Crony capitalism where losses of bankers are offloaded onto the backs of society and where the fraud of paper money is enforced on people to enrich those bankers is a racket.

Maybe Marx was right. Capitalism eventually degenerates into cronyism.
