CommUNITY: Mental health hurdles pt. 2

>>WHEN I FINALLY GOT STATESIDE
THERE WERE TWO VIETNAM VETERAN
THAT GREETED ME. THEY GRABBED MY STRETCHER. THEY WERE ESSENTIALLY PROTECTING
ME. SUPERMAN AND CHUCK NORRIS HAD
NOTHING ON THIS GU
HE WAS A WARRIOR THROUGH AND
THROUGH. HE TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD NOT BE
UPSET ABOUT GETTING A PURPLE
HEART. IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO TALK
ABOUT IT BECAUSE NOT EVERYBODY
THAT HAS ONE CAN TALK ABOUT IT. SHE MEANT THE GUYS WHO GOT
KILLED IN ACTION. AND THE PURPLE HEART THAT WAS
GIVEN TO THE NEXT OF KIN, A LOT
OF TIME THE KIDS. THAT IS THE PART WHERE I GOT
HUMBLED. I DO NOT REGRET IT, IT IS NOT MY
PROUDEST MOMENT, BUT I LOOKED AT
MY DAUGHTER AND W LIKE, IT IS
NOT WORTH IT. EVER SINCE THEN, I HAVE TRIED TO
FIND MY PLACE OUT HERE. TRYING TO HELP OTHER VETERANS. SINCE MY FIRST DEPLOYMENT, WE
LO BUDDIES TO EITHER THE
BOTTLE, THE BULLET, OR DRUGS. SUICIDE. THESE GUYS I HAD NOTHING BUT
RESPECT FOR, AND I WANTED TO
KNOW WHAT HAPPENED WHERE THEY
DECIDED TO TAKE THEIR OWN LIFE. I STILL HOLD THEM TO THE HIGHEST
PLACES AS SOME OF THE TEMPEST —
TOUGHEST WARRIORS I HAVE EVER
MET. I LOST THEM.>>IN THE SPAN OF TWO YEARS,
LOST TWO BUDDIES, MY DAD. I WENT INTO A VERY DARK HOLE. I FOUND A GROUP OF GUY OUT OF
COINCIDENCE. THEY HAVE AN ORGANIZATION CALLED
THE TITAN PROJECT. THEY HAD ONE OF THEIR OWN COMMIT
SUICIDE, THAT IS WHY THEY
STARTED THIS ORGANIZATION TO
HELP VETERAN
