Aarhus – European Capital of Culture 2017

Yaw… It’s JULAW Welcome to Aarhus City Slang AARHUS CITY AARHUS, AARHUS CITY AARHUS CITY AARHUS, AARHUS CITY AARHUS – not such a bad place
where you can chill and forget about the rat race where people grow up, struggle and work just as hard,
as a spammer on the hunt for your Visa Card. Persistent – but with a heart in it’s right place
a starting point with an awesome and nice pace. Where you meet people in the streets saying ‘Hi!’
and young girls flattering and confusing you passing by. Where boys in baggy jeans and girls in miniskirts,
where people say stuff like this and still make it work: “Fjårten i orden sårte skjorter…” [local dialect] We sprint, like trough a labyrinth and get dosed
in the city that lies on the edge of the coast ’cause the mentality here is all about
taking a moment, helping you out you won’t complain about slang they’ using
you’ll just find it damn amuzing It’s the City of Smiles, let me start out
defining the place, where you can scream your heart out or fall in love with, settle down to live free
Go all out – or take it nice and easy A city with young blood and an old history
this is my attempt, most eloquently to describe this place through a song
we’re looking forward – how else would we be moving on? Some people would rather live in Copenhagen
and of course there are differences, don’t be mistaken but that doesn’t really matter – here in our town
Aarhus still has it’s unique way to get down Where discussions start with a: “Listen up man!” – I’m definitely a fan people don’t act wierd and insane, ‘casue they are all part of a plan
with teamwork, helping out man to man Now that’s ILL! And hey – I hope that doesn’t offend you, know what I mean?
We’re not the types to hide behind the TV-screen on the contrary, we speak our mind –
that’s why this place is one of a kind It’s the City of Smiles, let me just start out
defining the town, where you can scream your heart out or fall in love with, settle down to live free
Go all out – or take it nice and easy A city with young blood and an old history
I’m trying right now most eloquently to describe the place throughout this song
we look forward – how else would we be moving on? AARHUS – this is where I chill out
driving my bike on my every day route between school and home, the forrest and the beach
where the city is still not overrun at least Though it’s packed with students drinking, in the cafés and small streets When I’m watching from above it’s all good
or when am running through Marselisborg woods It strikes me hard, like a kick in the balls
how people are not the mister know-it-alls You’re always welcome to sit down and chat
about your dirty little secrets and that In the Øgade-quarter or the Latin-quarter
Nørrestenbro or Trøjbrog, where young guns chase your daughter Risskov forrest, Botanical gardens, the University park or Brabrand Lake
the green oases for when you need an escape The sun is shining over the skyline
I’m feeling home in Mejlgade, both at day or at night time It’s love and affection – coming from inside
it’s where belong, so you know where I reside in AARHUS CITY AARHUS, AARHUS CITY AARHUS CITY AARHUS, AARHUS CITY AARHUS, DENMARK – elected European Capital of Culture 2017. See ya!

  4. I was in AArhus for two weeks during last holidays. Lovley city, nice beaches and clear sea. Very nice and helpful people (exept part of muslim emigrants.. which are rude and unpleasant), . There were only few sunny days during my trip.. but I would like to visit this city next summer. Greetings from Poland 🙂
